Criteria

Store cover art should not include text in the specified bleed areas of the top, bottom, left-hand, and right-hand side of the image.

Additional details

There should be a bleed area around your image. For more information, see the Store Art Guidelines. Here’s an example image that highlights the bleed area. There should be no text in the bleed area:

Steps to test

  1. View the cover art images.
  2. Download the Bleed area template files.
  3. Compare the template files against your cover art to confirm that your art doesn’t have text in the bleed areas.

Expected result

All sides of the cover image’s bleed area do not include text, badges, or other busy patterns that would make an overlay illegible.

  • 2024-11-22: Criteria now reads “specified bleed areas” instead of just “top or bottom 20%” and includes a link to the bleed area template files for reference.
