Criteria

Apps that stream stereoscopic, head-tracked or immersive content from virtual devices or cloud sources must not be directed at children under the age of 13.

Additional details

Streaming stereoscopic, head-tracked or immersive content directed at children under the age of 13 is not allowed.

Steps to test

  1. Determine the app’s appropriate age group.
  2. Verify that the app’s age group is Teens and Adults (13+ or applicable age in user’s region).

Expected result

Apps directed at Mixed Ages (under 13 or applicable age in user’s region, and 13+) or Children (under 13 or applicable age in user’s region) should not stream stereoscopic, head-tracked or immersive content.

Revisions

  • 2024-07-31: Removed “App Lab: Required” VRC platform requirement.
  • 2024-05-14: Clarify that Teens and Adults means 13+ or applicable age in user’s regions.
