Once you have selected your desired app MSRP in USD during app submission, you can adjust the conversion of this price across other countries to their relevant currencies. Adjusting local pricing helps you stay competitive in different markets and can improve conversion rates in regions where a direct USD conversion may not reflect local purchasing power.
You can revisit your app pricing and local pricing again after app submission.
Pricing options
When choosing a local price, you can choose from the following options:
Default: The default local price that users in a selected country will see, based on foreign exchange rates. By selecting this option, your local pricing will occasionally update automatically as foreign exchange rates change.
Custom price: If you don’t want to use the default or suggested conversion price, you may manually enter an alternative price point of your choice. As you enter your initial price, a suffix that adheres to the country’s cultural standards will automatically be appended. You may override the pre-populated suffix by typing in your desired suffix directly.
Suggested conversion: This price adjusts your USD price to account for local factors such as purchasing power. While the suggested conversion for a USD price may change based on new data, your local price will not update automatically. You will have the chance to apply updated suggested conversions. Currently, suggested conversion prices are only available for the following regions:
Australia (A$)
Canada (C$)
Eurozone (EUR €)
Japan (JPY ¥)
South Korea (KRW ₩)
The United Kingdom (GBP £)
Note: Suggested conversion prices are not available for add-on content.
How to adjust local prices
Use the following process to set the local pricing for your app:
Choose the app that you want to update the local pricing for.
From the left-side navigation, expand Distribution and click App Submissions.
Choose the version of the app that you want to update the local pricing for from the table.
From the Pricing tab, select your price in USD using the MSRP drop-down menu.
From Countries with Custom Price, add the countries that will have local prices.
Each country you selected in the previous step will have a drop-down menu with pricing options.
If you choose to, before selecting individual prices, you can select Add all with suggested prices to apply the suggested conversions across the available countries.
To adjust an individual country, select that country’s drop-down menu and choose a new price.
Finish applying changes to your app submission and click Submit for Review.
Tax considerations for local pricing
Prices displayed to users in certain countries are tax-inclusive, meaning the price shown already includes applicable taxes such as VAT or GST. In other countries, such as the United States and Canada, prices are displayed tax-exclusive.
Meta remits applicable VAT or GST on behalf of developers for sales to users in the EU and several additional countries. For a complete list of countries where Meta handles tax remittance, see Manage your financial account.
When setting custom local prices, keep in mind that the price users see in tax-inclusive countries already includes tax. You do not need to add tax to your custom price in these countries.
Price change requirements
You can change the price of your app or add-on content by using the app submission form. However, once a price is changed for a specific country, there may be requirements in that country to maintain that price before another price change. Any such requirements are noted in the app submission form. Once these requirements are met, you can once again change the price for that country or participate in a sale event.
If you run a sale in an eligible country, the discount percentage selected in the Developer Dashboard will automatically be applied to the local price. For more information on sales, see Sales promotions.
