Developer organization verification
Updated: Sep 17, 2024
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a secure platform, all Meta Quest developers must undergo developer organization verification. This process ensures that developer accounts are associated with legitimate organizations. Every developer organization that wishes to submit an app to the Meta Horizon Store must complete this verification.
Developer organizations are required to provide documentation to verify their business or an admin’s identity before they can publish or update apps. Failing to verify will prevent the organization from publishing, updating apps, or submitting Data Use Checkup (DUC) recertification.
Organization verification does the following:
- Confirms your organization is a legal entity: You must register your organization with local authorities and provide an official contact number or mailing address.
- Verifies your authorization to represent your organization: You’ll need to be able to receive a verification code sent to the phone number or email address of your organization.
Verifying your organization
If you are an admin or an authorized representative for your organization, you can start verification from the
Developer Dashboard. If your organization is unverified, you’ll see notifications in the Developer Dashboard prompting you to start verification. On the Organization verification page, you’ll be able to complete our verification processes:
- Business Verification: Collects information to confirm your organization as a legal business entity.
- Admin Verification: Collects personal information to confirm your identity if you don’t have a business entity.
- Open your browser and navigate to the Developer Dashboard.
- From the left-side navigation, click Org Verification.
- Scroll down and click Start verification under Business verification.
- Read and follow the instructions in the Verify your business modal. When you’re ready to continue, click Get started.
- Choose the country where your business is located, and then click Next.
- Add the required business details including name, address, and phone number, as well as any optional details you’d like to provide like website and tax ID. When you’re finished, click Next.
- Select the correct business from the list of businesses generated from public records, or select My business isn’t listed if you don’t see your organization on the list.
- Review your business details and click Next.
- Select a contact method and choose how you want to receive your verification code, either through email, phone call, or text message (SMS).
- Enter your verification code.
- Click Submit.
Once you receive confirmation that your organization is verified, there’s nothing more you need to do. You’ll receive a notification when the review is complete.
- Open your browser and navigate to the Developer Dashboard.
- From the left-side navigation, click Org Verification.
- Scroll down and click Add myself under Admin verification.
- Read the Responsible party agreement. If you certify that you are an authorized representative for this business and can receive communications and act on its behalf, click I agree, and then Continue.
- Click Start verification and you will be redirected to another Meta site to complete the verification process.
As an admin, you can verify up to five organizations at a time. If you have reached the limit and need to verify another organization, consider the following options:
- Remove existing verification: You can remove your admin verification for one of your current organizations.
- Use business verification: You can use business verification to verify the new organization.
- Get help from another admin: You can ask another admin to verify the organization.
