What is Early Access

Early Access is a label that developers can apply to their apps in the Meta Horizon Store. This label tells potential customers that the app is not finalized, and that they should expect changes. Early Access is currently available for apps newly published on the Store.
You can enable Early Access during app submission to indicate that your app is a work-in-progress and set expectations regarding user experience. Apps with Early Access are discoverable and searchable in Store.

How Early Access apps look in Store

Early Access apps have a label on the their app tile and are displayed in a separate Early Access section of the Meta Horizon Store: Early Access
They will also have a disclaimer on the Product Details Page (PDP):

All user reviews posted during the time the app was in Early Access have a specific label on them so that users can better understand the context behind the review:

How to enable Early Access

The App Submissions page in the Developer Dashboard has the option for enabling Early Access. If you enable Early Access, we recommend adding more details in your app description about why the app is in Early Access, what you plan to add in the future releases, and when you expect to launch the full version. To enable your Early Access label, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to the Developer Dashboard.
  2. Choose your app.
  3. In the left-side navigation, click Distribution > App Submissions.
  4. Click Edit app in the top right corner.
  5. Click the App Metadata tab.
  6. In the tab, click the Specs sub-tab.
  7. In the Early Access section, select Enable.
  8. Submit your app for review.

How to disable Early Access

Disabling Early Access is an irreversible action, so if you decide to disable Early Access, you won’t be able to re-enable it.
To disable your Early Access label, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to the Developer Dashboard.
  2. Choose your app.
  3. In the left-side navigation, click Distribution > App Submissions.
  4. Click Edit app in the top right corner.
  5. Click the App Metadata tab.
  6. In the tab, click the Specs sub-tab.
  7. In the Early Access section, select Disable.
  8. Submit your app for review.
When you disable Early Access, your app is considered ‘newly released’ and may appear in the New Releases section of the Meta Horizon Store.
