Enable and Test Hand Tracking Using the Meta XR Simulator
Updated: Jun 12, 2024
Overview
This page describes how you can enable and test hand tracking in the Meta XR Simulator to make developing, testing, and debugging your apps easier.
To enable hand tracking:
In the Meta XR Simulator window, go to Device Setup.
Select Hand as the input device for Left Input and/or Right Input.
XR Simulator currently supports four different hand poses: aim (default), poke, pinch, and grab.
Just as when controllers are active, the left mouse button can be used to trigger a “select” gesture while hands are enabled. All “active” hands (highlighted as Active Inputs within the Input Simulation window) switch to pinch when the button is pressed and aim when it’s released.
The 1
through 4
number keys on the keyboard switch all “active” hands (highlighted as Active Inputs within the Input Simulation window) between default, poke, pinch, and grab poses.
You can use:

Use the pose dropdown within the Input Simulation window to select which pose to activate for a given hand.
