Updated: Mar 14, 2025|
Version
74.0
Meta XR Audio SDK for Unreal provides comprehensive spatial audio features for immersive applications, including a spatial audio renderer with HRTF, ambisonic audio playback, and room acoustics for creating immersive environments.

Version 74.0 Release Notes

What's New
  • A new feature was added which allows users to map Meta XR Acoustic Materials to existing Physical Material components instead of manually placing Meta XR Acoustic Material components throughout their game geometry
  • A new feature was added which allows users to toggle Medium Absorption for specific audio sources. This feature is specific to Acoustic Ray Tracing, and when enabled it applies frequency specific attenuation over distance based on the medium the sound travels through
  • Meta XR Acoustic Geometry and Meta XR Acoustic Material components can now be created and modified within the blueprint editor
  • You can now assign a color to a Meta XR Acoustic Material component. This allows you to more quickly visualize what materials you are using in your level
  • There are now individual toggles for each type of visualizer (Geometry, Map, Control Zone, and Room) as well as a global visualizer toggle

  • What's Fixed
  • Prevent an issue where a user could press cancel during when Baking an Acoustic Map but it would not actually perform the cancellation
  • The Meta XR Acoustic Map visualizer is now performant and no longer causes significant slowdown in the editor
  • Fixed an occasional crash when using the LOD feature on the Meta XR Acoustic Geometry component

  • Improvements
  • The status now shows more detail when Baking an Acoustic Map
  • The Meta XR Acoustic Geometry now checks if its file stale more performantly and more robustly

  • Known Issues
  • There is a known issue where changes to the parameters of a Meta XR Acoustic Geometry or Meta XR Acoustic Map component won’t be saved when closing and re-opening the project. This will be resolved in v76.
