Using Point-and-Click Input
Updated: Sep 2, 2026
Point-and-Click Input lets you interact with XR applications using your mouse. When enabled, the controller ray automatically follows your mouse cursor.
- Open the Inputs panel in Meta XR Simulator.
- Expand Keyboard and mouse.
- Turn on Point & click.
Compatibility mode: Enable movement-based aiming if your application does
not submit depth information or if the default aiming mode is imprecise.
ISDK pointer offset: Enable the controller-specific pose adjustment used by
Interaction SDK’s Ray Interactor.
Action input: Select the left or right controller for pointer input and
click actions.
- Point-and-Click is most useful during UI testing and early development, where you want to interact with in-app widgets and UI elements without a physical headset.
- Enable ISDK pointer offset if ray-based interactions are misaligned when
using Interaction SDK’s Ray Interactor. The adjustment depends on the
simulated controller model and includes both position and rotation.
