Blog Hero Image

We’re excited to debut a new Developer Success resource page that provides an overview of the Meta Quest tools that can help you grow your business and engage your audience. From self-serve monetization and engagement tools, to add-ons and subscriptions, developer case studies, and best practices for the Meta Quest Store and App Lab, there’s a resource for every need as you build and scale your business.

Self-serve monetization and engagement tools

These tools help you take control of determining the appropriate monetization and promotional strategy for your content, whether it’s offering your users an ability to test your app before purchase, offering limited discounts, and much more.
Below you’ll find a summary of six tools we recommend starting with and how they can help grow your business. Additional monetization tools can be referenced here, and engagement documentation is available here.
  • Try Before You Buy can help you increase conversion rate and buyer confidence by creating a free trial for your app, with no purchase necessary after the trial ends.
  • Custom Promo Codes provide a way to reward your community, fund VR influencers, and track marketing campaigns by creating discounts for your app.
  • Pre-Orders and Coming Soon pages can kickstart your marketing efforts for up to 180 days prior to launch through a pre-launch listing.
  • Optimize the best price for your app by leveraging pricing tools such as Country Specific Pricing, Bundles, and Sales.
  • Additional engagement levers like Leaderboards, User Notifications, Events, and more can help you engage your audience and keep them incentivized to return to your experience.
  • Meta Quest developer analytics can help you understand the state of your business and optimize your app’s performance.

Additional ways to monetize

For a few additional ways to monetize, consider Add-on Content (AOC) or Subscriptions.
  • Add-on Content provides a way for you to create new content for users in addition to the app that they purchase. This content can be purchased either in your app or directly in the Meta Quest Store on your app’s product detail page.
  • Subscriptions offer a way for users to purchase Meta Quest Store content by way of a recurring payment model. This can be an attractive option for apps or games with frequent content updates or other service-like attributes.

Developer case studies

We have a robust library of developer case studies offering tips and recommendations that can help enhance new and old titles alike. Learn how developers are using the Meta Quest tools above—and more—to grow their business.
