Version 207.0 Release Notes

Overview

Version 207 introduces Look and Pinch, camera-driven hand tracking, session video recording, and support for Meta VR Glasses, alongside a range of rendering and stability fixes.

What's New

Look and Pinch is now available as a fully supported input mode (previously gated). Select it to drive the app with gaze plus pinch gestures, with Point-and-Click settings preserved when switching modes.
  • Meta VR Glasses support — simulate Meta VR Glasses, including field-of-view simulation, variable IPD, and gaze tracking.
  • Camera-driven hand tracking — drive simulated hands from your webcam, with independent controls for camera hand tracking and camera head tracking, and per-finger pinch strength reported to the app. Includes a per-hand toggle so you can mix a tracked hand with a simulated one.
  • Session video recording — record the simulator's composited output to an MP4 with a native H.264 encoder, including live camera hand tracking, driven through a new recording control API.
  • Meta VR CLI as XR Simulator frontend - XR Sim can now run headlessly with AI Agents if they use Meta’s VR CLI + Meta’s Agentic Tools Skills.
  • What's Fixed

  • Fixed several Vulkan defects in compositor readback on Windows, improving capture and recording reliability.
  • Fixed frame capture breaking after a swapchain was recreated mid-session.
  • Fixed a class of Vulkan failures when the graphics device changes during a session.
  • Known Issues

  • Enabling Vulkan Validation Layers causes a memory leak. Make sure they are disabled
  • Enabling XROperator input blocks subsequent mouse and keyboard issues requiring a restart from XR Simulator
  • VRS Recording does not capture user interactions in the scene
  • Hands can move out of viewport when moving an object using pinch interaction
  • Changing devices for scenes using Gaze tracking & SES can cause Unity crashes on the first try.
