Oculus Developer Hub (ODH) is now Meta Quest Developer Hub (MQDH). To download the newest version and see the latest features, click here.

Oculus Developer Hub (ODH) is now more powerful than ever, with completely new capabilities and solutions to daily development challenges. Here are the highlights from Update 1.8:

Upload Builds to Release Channels

You can now upload builds and publish to Oculus release channels. The new “App Distribution” page in ODH displays all of the Oculus applications of your selected Developer Organization. Clicking into an app will list all of the release channels that you have created for that app. The default release channels are Alpha, Beta, RC and Production (Store). Release channels let you distribute early versions of your builds to limited audiences for testing or other purposes. The Production channel is used when you’re ready to have your app reviewed and published to the Oculus Store.

New Home Page

The home page in ODH 1.8 has been completely redesigned, to bring you the best and most relevant Oculus news and guides. There are also common action links to the most popular pages on the Oculus developer website. The home page is where you can stay up to date on the latest information for Oculus developers.

Open URLs in Oculus Browser

You can now enter a URL in ODH and quickly launch it in your headset in the Oculus Browser. Go to My Device > Actions, enter a URL next to Oculus Browser and click “Open.” This feature works with any URL and is a great way to launch a WebXR application that you’re developing. You no longer need to type long URLs with the VR keyboard.

View Recorded Metric Graphs

ODH now makes it easy to install the OVR Metrics Tool and enable metric recording on your Oculus headset. If you haven’t already installed the OVR Metrics Tool, go to Package Manager > Available and find the install button under Device Applications. On macOS, you can install OVR Metrics Tool in My Device > Device Actions.
To use recorded metrics, go to My Device and enable “Metrics Recording.” With recording enabled, performance data will be recorded to a file, any time you launch an app. To view the recorded data, click “View Files” next to “Metrics Recording” and open one of the files.
Opening a metrics file will display rich graphs with performance data across more than 30 stats. This is a great way to begin understanding performance bottlenecks in your app. Learn more about the OVR Metrics Tool in our documentation.

Share Custom Commands

You can now share ODH custom commands with other people. To export all commands, go to My Device > Custom Commands and click the dot menu, then click ”Export commands.” This will save your commands to a JSON file which you can share with anyone. You can also export individual commands by clicking the dot menu next to a specific command and clicking “Export.”
To import a custom command JSON file, go to the Custom Commands dot menu and click “Import commands.” This is an easy way to share your library of custom commands with your teammates or between separate development machines.

Miscellaneous

A bug has been fixed which caused APK installs to wipe previous saved data for the app being installed. You can now install APKs in ODH while maintaining previous saved data.
You can now see the email address associated with your account under Settings > Account. This is a simple and useful improvement as you can now see the account that is logged into ODH.
We hope you enjoy Update 1.8, and we look forward to your feedback! If you haven’t already downloaded ODH, you can do so for Windows or macOS. Learn more in the ODH Documentation.
