Stay Informed of App Enforcements with the Compliance Dashboard Beta
This week, we launched the Beta for a new Compliance Dashboard that will help you manage and track compliance on items such as Data Use Checkups, Data Protection Assessment, or privacy policy reviews. Staying compliant ensures we’re working together to maintain a safe and thriving ecosystem for all VR users.
The Beta version of the Compliance Dashboard lists upcoming, active, and resolved enforcements for all of your organization’s apps in one location within the Developer Dashboard. It contains important details such as links to resolve compliance issues, enforcement deadlines and the enforcement actions being taken against your apps. With the ability to review all of your violations and enforcement dates in one place, you can proactively ensure your apps are compliant to avoid disruptions.
This tool also significantly reduces the amount of time spent tracking and resolving app compliance issues—especially for developers with multiple apps. Previously, we relied solely on email to communicate with you about enforcement actions. Based on your valuable feedback, we built the Compliance Dashboard to centralize these communications within the Org Manager sidebar in the Developer Dashboard. Your organization will still receive emails pertaining to your compliance requirements, but if they are related to enforcement actions taken against your apps, these emails will soon link to the Compliance Dashboard.
Our aim is to continue improving the “Upcoming” portion of the dashboard to eventually include specific compliance items such as recertifications pertaining to Data Use Checkup, Data Protection Assessment, and more—well before their initial deadline. We will continue consolidating our communications to you about these requirements into this dashboard as the tool is upgraded. During Beta, we strongly recommend that you continue monitoring compliance-related emails closely to avoid violations.
The Compliance Dashboard is broken down into three enforcement categories:
Active Enforcements: Enforcements currently being taken against your app due to requirements that are overdue.
Upcoming Enforcements: Enforcements that will take effect soon if action is not taken.
Resolved Enforcements: A log of compliance actions that have recently been addressed.
Each action item displays the applicable platform, the issue requiring action, and the specific enforcement being taken, taking the guesswork out of understanding how enforcements will affect your app. All required actions to resolve the violations are listed chronologically and include the corresponding app title. If an app is not listed in one of these three categories, it’s in good standing and has no upcoming or active enforcements. We also provide a brief description of the action required when you hover your mouse over the “Resolve” button listed for each item. Clicking on this button takes you to a corresponding page where you can complete the action. Checking the Compliance Dashboard regularly can help ensure you aren’t surprised if an enforcement is taken on your app, and helps you avoid enforcements entirely.
We hope the Compliance Dashboard helps you stay informed about upcoming actions your organization needs to take and streamlines our communication about these enforcements. While this tool is still in Beta, it’s available for all developers and will update to offer new design, features, or functionality in the future.
