Quest Submission Policy Update: 64-bit by Default

As we look to enable developer success throughout the ecosystem, we continue to enhance our developer systems. With these improvements in mind, we have recently updated the Oculus Quest store upload policy, making 64-bit applications a requirement.
Generally the upload process will not change, you will simply notice a 64-bit option by default when uploading your Oculus Quest APK. We have also updated the VRC for Oculus Quest, to account for this change.
Gabor Szauer on our Developer Relations Engineering Team has written a companion article which provides the many benefits of ARM64 technology, including the relationship between physical and virtual memory on Android and shared code. The article also shares an in-depth example of why 64-bit can lead to better app performance, as we’ve seen with ~10% of compiled APKs compared to 32-bit.
As always, feel free to pose any questions within the comments section below or on the Oculus Developer Forum.
