Blog Hero Image
Hundreds of creators from more than a dozen countries submitted their best remixable worlds, assets, and tutorials for our third creator competition of 2025: Open Source Champions. Today, we’re excited to announce the winners of the $1.5 million total prize pool and the creators who stood out for designing worlds that spark collaboration, iteration, and community.
This competition is part of our ongoing $50 million investment in the Worlds creator community and the systems and tools that make open, collaborative world building possible.
Dive in below for details about our winners, as well as new sharing experiences aimed at helping more players and creators discover and engage with your worlds.

Meet the Top Remixable Worlds Prize Winners

This challenge invited creators to either remix an existing world or build an original one from scratch using Meta Horizon’s remixable worlds feature to make their creations clonable, editable, and open for others to build upon. Without further ado, here are the top prize winners:

$100,000 Grand Prizer Winner: Ultimate Party Game Template by DevbuddyStudio

Ultimate Party Game Template streamlines party-game development by handling all core game flow elements like lobby management, scoring, respawn, AFK handling, and late joins so remixers can focus exclusively on building minigames. Just drop in your logic and config, and the framework runs the rest.
“We built this framework because we love party games, the kind of quick, fun loops where friends can jump in, play a round, and move on,” says Devbuddystudio. “Our inspiration was to make creating new minigames as simple and approachable as possible, even for developers with little experience.”
The system uses modular policies, a typed event bus, and a custom tool called AutoVars to reduce boilerplate and streamline development—delivering a low-friction authoring experience for creators of all levels.

$75,000 2nd place winner: ObbyLand by Quadra01

ObbyLand is a remixable toolkit that helps creators build fast, fun obstacle courses—no scripting required. With drop-in obstacles, power-up potions, collectibles, and ready-to-use assets, it’s designed to make shipping a high-quality obby quick and approachable for everyone.

$50,000 3rd place winner: ModCity: DRIFTERS by Thrilluwu

ModCity: DRIFTERS is a remixable 90s Tokyo-inspired driving sim that features plug-and-play systems for cars, city-building, and shopping. With modular assets and a full game loop, it’s a flexible template for creators building anything from racers to open-world experiences.

New Ways to Amplify Your World

We’re continuing to invest in features and functionalities that help more people discover your worlds. Along with our latest creator competition focused on progression and sharing, we’re also highlighting some recent updates that make sharing easier (and more fun) for you and your communities. We also made Shovel Up from BigBox Studios available for remixing.

Make Your World Remixable

We’re excited to share that all creators can now make their worlds remixable. With this update, creators can:
  1. Use an arbitrary world from our community as a starting point, dramatically expanding the starting options available to creators. Paired with social features that incentivize a more open creation culture, this platform-level feature will help nurture a community that builds upon each other's work, leading to richer and more diverse experiences, and ultimately catalyzing the discovery of product-market fit.
  2. Create and iterate much faster. With a more rapid pace of building and iteration, creators can quickly make updates and increase the likelihood that their experience is successful and exciting for users. Creators can spot the right mechanisms to drive engagement and find traction, and spread them throughout the community.
These remixable worlds offer the following:
  1. Any creator can opt-in to make their world an Open World during the publishing flow.
  2. If they opt-in, any creator can make a copy of their world and start iterating from that.
  3. When another creator opens Creation Home, they’ll see the top Open Worlds as new suggested starting points.
  4. A recognition system highlights creators who contribute to the Open World ecosystem.
  5. A ‘DNA’ tree shows which new worlds were created from an original world.
We can’t wait to see what our creator community builds using these exciting new worlds as the backbone for amazing experiences. To start creating your own remixable worlds, visit the documentation.
