Introducing Start and Launch Pad Support for Horizon Worlds
Oculus VR
Last fall, we announced a $10M Creator Fund to encourage people to come create with us in Horizon Worlds*. As we continue to push the boundaries of immersive technology and invest in building the metaverse together, we’re expanding our VR developer programs—Oculus Start and Oculus Launch Pad—to include Builder Tracks to support developers interested in building in Horizon Worlds.
We’ve been amazed by our program developers—the innovative ideas and diverse perspectives you’ve brought to VR, the compelling content you’ve created, the audiences you’ve found on our platforms, and the supportive communities you’ve built.
Today, we’re inviting you to further unleash your imagination, expand your expertise, and bring your vision to life by joining one of our Builder Tracks for Horizon Worlds.
Program members who apply and are selected to participate will receive:
Training on tools through a Horizon Worlds boot camp
Support from Meta experts
Access to top VR developers building in Horizon
Opportunities to share feedback that will inform future roadmaps
A chance to earn funding or cash prizes through an exclusive competition
Swag
For our first cohort of builders, we’re dedicating over $500,000 in funding and cash prizes to program developers creating unique, innovative, and engaging worlds in Horizon Worlds.
If you’re a member of Oculus Start or Oculus Launch Pad, you can learn more and apply for one of the Builder Tracks here.
If you’re not a member of one of our developer programs, we invite you to explore them—and how they accelerate developer success—below.
Oculus Start provides qualifying developers with access to hardware, software related savings, technical support, and a community of like-minded VR developers. Those not already part of the Oculus Start program can find more info here.
Oculus Launch Pad is designed to support promising VR content creators from diverse backgrounds through access to hardware, ongoing educational programming, guidance from Meta experts, and a robust online community of peers, as well as the opportunity for funding through the Launch Pad Scholarship program. You can learn more about the Oculus Launch Pad program here.
If you have any questions, please let us know in the developer forums or join the conversation on Twitter and Facebook.
