Did you know over $1.5 billion has been spent on games and apps in the Meta Quest Store? Or that more than 40 titles have grossed more than $10 million in revenue, with the number of titles at the $20-million mark doubling year over year?
Last month we were excited to share milestones like these and show the world how quickly our platform is growing—and more importantly, how VR developers are surpassing key revenue milestones even faster than ever before.
Whether you’re planning a marketing campaign or working on your next app update, we want to provide the tools you need to understand your audience and achieve sustained success building on Meta Quest. That’s why today, we’re announcing a series of updates to our Developer Analytics dashboards to improve the accuracy and utility of the analytics we provide you with in 2023 and beyond. These improvements will roll out in phases, with all updates expected to wrap later this year—but you can access the first batch of updates today!
Dive in below for more details and find key documentation to get started using Developer Analytics.

Same Look, Improved Data Pipelines

We’ve been busy updating many of the Analytics dashboards to reflect more data sources that provide a better view of your app. Here’s an overview for each phase of updates.

Phase 1

  • User Demographics: Get a broad look into your audience segments with insights on user age, gender, and country.
    • Improved reporting of active users.
  • Subscriptions: Find data and charts to help you understand how people are engaging with your app’s subscription offerings.
  • Multiplayer: Determine the performance of your currently implemented multiplayer features.
    • Improved reporting of User Launch Failures
  • Crash: See how many users experience crashes with your Meta Quest apps and what kind of crashes they are experiencing.
    • Changes include displaying more recent stack trace for the same category of errors making easier to debug crashes

Phase 2

  • Funnel: Get data and graphics to help you assess the effectiveness of your app tiles, product details pages (PDPs) and marketing efforts.
    • Improved logger results of Reach and Clicks count.
  • Add-on Content: Get data and graphics that display the number of paid entitlements and associated revenue for in-app purchases (IAP) and downloadable content (DLC) offered for purchase in your apps.
    • Fixed revenue and entitlement count per IAP items.
  • Overview: Get a snapshot of analytics for your app, including lifetime entitlements, app installs, lifetime active users, in-app purchase (IAP) revenue, and more.
  • Revenue: See a breakdown of revenue over time, including total app entitlements and refunds made during the selected period.
    • Improved country breakdowns and filters.

Phase 3

  • User Engagement: See how many users engage with your app on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, as well as user engagement and retention trends.
    • Improved reporting for Time Spent Per User
    • Improved reporting for Avg Time Spent per User in the First 28 Days
  • Performance: Understand the technical performance of your app, including frame rates and memory usage.
  • Marketing Attribution: Determine the marketing campaigns and sources that resulted in visits to your app’s Product Detail Page (PDP), and the aggregate number of purchases as a result of those visits
When the updates go into effect, you will not notice a big change from a UI perspective. That’s largely by design—we want to uphold the familiarity you have with existing dashboards and enable you to easily find the data you’re looking for. With this being said, the data within the dashboards may look different than the last time you looked at it.
That’s because as a result of migrating our Developer Analytics Dashboards to a new analytics back-end, multiple dashboards will reflect improved data that can help inform your decision making. This change should provide you with the ability to leverage insights gained from our analytics confidently as you build your strategy.
