Mitigate Bugs & Issues with App Rollbacks

Blog Hero Image
Developing high-quality games and apps for VR isn’t easy. As most developers know, sometimes even the most polished apps still produce unexpected bugs despite numerous rounds of testing and review.
Today, we’re excited to announce app rollbacks to give you the flexibility you need to properly manage your live build and ensure quality control. You can now select an older build for any release channel through the Developer Dashboard or Meta Quest Developer Hub (MQDH) to revert your app to a previous version.
Available for all developers, app rollbacks are a convenient way to ensure your live build meets the expectations of both your team and your app’s users. If one of your apps is causing issues, you can simply visit the Developer Dashboard or MQDH just like you would to upload a new build—only now, you have the option to select a previous version. Simply select “Change Current Build” within the Release Channel tab to view a drop-down list of previous builds.
Best of all, app rollbacks appear just like normal app updates on users’ devices so you can ensure consistency and quickly mitigate bugs and issues regardless of where they stem from. For more developer updates and features like app rollbacks, be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
