Over two days at Meta Connect 2026, we shared our latest AI models and products and our latest breakthroughs across VR, AI glasses, and Horizon. We laid out where each platform is headed, and how to start building today with the latest technologies we shared. The next year belongs to the developers who start now, so dive in below to discover what's new along with links to every session and next steps to hit the ground running.
What you need to know: With AI, what matters most isn't any single benchmark. It's velocity, and how quickly frontier intelligence becomes tools you can build with.
We shared how that intelligence is available to you today: Muse Spark 1.3 brings frontier-level reasoning to complex coding and agentic workflows, Muse Code is out of beta for long-horizon engineering work, and new image, voice and open-weights models round out the family. Meta Model API is now generally available globally, so you have choice over how, where and at what scale you build.
For VR, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed Meta VR Glasses, the next generation of Meta VR, along with the newly launched v207 SDKs that let you build and test before the hardware arrives in spring 2027.
For AI glasses, we introduced three ways to bring your work to the glasses, including the Wearables Device Access Toolkit 1.0 and web apps for Meta Ray-Ban Display, plus new surfaces where people will be able to find what you create.
And for Horizon, Horizon Create on mobile and Horizon Studio on the web turn an idea you describe into a playable game that reaches people across Facebook, Instagram and Horizon.
In this post
AI: models, agents and the road ahead: enable agentic workflows and complex coding workstreams with Muse Spark, Muse Code and more from our latest models.
AI glasses: discover new ways to build, and new surfaces where people can find what you make.
Meta VR: get a head start on building for Meta VR Glasses.and the latest announcements in VR
Horizon: explore new ways to build games on your phone with Horizon Create, or in your browser with Horizon Studio. Then, publish and get discovered across Meta platforms.
The future of AI will be shaped by more than the capabilities of any single model. It will be shaped by:
Velocity: how quickly we can advance intelligence and put it in the hands of developers
Accessibility: how broadly we can enable developers—through platforms and partners—to build at scale, however they choose to build.
We know many developers are primarily building with strong reasoning models and multi-step coding agents, and that's why Meta Superintelligence Labs has been rapidly training our models to compete at the frontier.
During the state of the union, we shared how Meta is helping developers move faster with greater choice over what they build, where they deploy, and how they scale.
More ways to build with Muse models
At Meta Connect, we showcased the expansion of the Muse ecosystem to give developers more choice across models, modalities, deployment options, and price points:
Muse Spark 1.3 brings frontier-level reasoning to complex coding and agentic workflows, while Muse Code turns that intelligence into a multi-agent machine built for long-horizon engineering tasks.
Muse Code, now out of beta and available on Windows, is designed to take on substantial, multi-step coding challenges. It's multi-agent by default, allowing parallel workers to write and test code in isolated workspaces.
For creative and conversational experiences, Muse Image supports production-grade image generation, and our expanded voice API suite supports leading voice-to-text capabilities with Muse Voice Transcribe.
Developers who require greater local control or want to deploy on-device agents can use Muse Glimmer, an open-weights, 30B-parameter model designed to run on a single GPU or Mac Mini.
We've recently launched the Muse Connector Platform, enabling developers to reach new customers and connect your products to the everyday tasks people rely on Muse to help out with.
We’re also making our Muse series of models more accessible wherever developers choose to work. Meta Model API is now generally available globally, with support and compliance for enterprise workloads through our first-party API and third-party partners. Muse Spark 1.3 is now available through Oracle Cloud AI Platform, with availability on Google Cloud in private preview.
Global AI Developer Hackathon
To help developers put these models to work right away, we announced the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon, a global virtual hackathon. Build on Meta Model API, Muse Code or our open-weights models, with free Model API credits. Engineers and researchers from Meta Superintelligence Labs run hands-on technical workshops across the ten days. There are two tracks, one for indie developers and one for startup teams, and a $1M cash prize pool.

Scaling frontier intelligence for all developers
Across every part of our AI ecosystem, our focus remains the same: putting intelligence and choice into developer's hands. The pace of innovation at Meta SuperIntelligence Labs is accelerating. We're here to keep pushing the frontier, and give developers the tools to harness it.
That means frontier performance at accessible prices through Meta Model API and Muse Code, flexibility to build locally or in the cloud, and an expanding partner ecosystem that lets developers work wherever they choose.

After a year in developer preview, the Meta Wearables Device Access Toolkit 1.0 has officially launched. With it, you can extend your mobile app to AI glasses without rebuilding from scratch. Your current codebase, infrastructure and store listing all stay intact. Users launch experiences hands-free with ‘Hey Meta’ invocation, speak naturally as automatic speech recognition converts their words into commands, and navigate with a swipe on Meta Neural Band. A single integration works across both display and displayless AI glasses.
Device Access Toolkit 1.0 brings the context your app needs to stay in the moment: camera capture for visual input, voice streaming that turns speech into action, and motion tracking so your experience responds to head movement and orientation and more. Together these capabilities open up the moments when reaching for a phone breaks the flow: cataloguing inventory, documenting a repair with both hands on the tool, capturing a field observation as it happens, and many other use cases.
Ship to Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses with the web skills you already have. Standard web APIs render on the built-in display with no native app or SDK required. Bring a site you already have, or build something new quickly.
Web apps can tune into the wearer's context: device position, location and even wrist motion from Meta Neural band. They can also take text input however it fits the moment: dictation, handwriting, or an on-screen keyboard that all feed one text composer, so you only build the field once. And, with the new UI Toolkit for Meta Ray-Ban Display and its accompanying skills, going from an idea to an app is faster too.
Finally, with WebMCP in developer preview, Meta AI can complete tasks inside your app using only the functions you choose to expose.
You define the tools your web app exposes. Meta AI calls them when someone asks, and answers through the glasses.
Put your service inside the Meta AI conversation, no app required. Meta AI Connectors enable you to connect your service through an API or MCP server, and people reach it without leaving their chat. Because the integration isn't glasses-specific, the same connector travels with Meta AI onto new surfaces. Sign up for the developer preview to start building and testing connectors.
Get discovered on AI glasses
For the first time, what you build for glasses will soon be able to reach a growing audience on-device. On Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, you'll be able to find the experience right on the device, and in the Meta AI app, you'll have a curated section of compatible experiences.
Soon, people will be able to discover what you build for AI glasses on Meta Ray-Ban Display and in the Meta AI app.
More information on submitting web apps and apps built with the Device Access Toolkit for approval to appear on these surfaces is coming soon, so create an account on the Wearables Developer Center today to get the details as soon as they come.
Meta VR: get a head start on building for Meta VR Glasses
Meta VR Glasses are the next generation of Meta VR: a lightweight pair of VR glasses with the compute in a tethered puck. They run the same operating system as Meta Quest, so your engine, your SDKs and your workflow carry over.
The hardware arrives in spring 2027, but the v207 SDKs for Unity, Unreal, Android and Web are available now to help you design, test, and refine your experiences before it launches.
Meta VR Glasses ship in spring 2027, and you can start building for them today with v207 SDKs.
We see VR Glasses as an addition, not a replacement to Meta Quest devices. Gaming is still core to the Meta VR ecosystem, and your titles and players remain a priority. As teased at Meta Connect, we're continuing to invest in new gaming hardware for the most immersive experiences.
Here are some key features of VR Glasses and design considerations to be aware of:
Eyes and hands are the primary input. VR Glasses ship without controllers in the box.
Gaze Interaction in the Interaction SDK handles targeting, and the comprehensive rig switches between gaze and raycast by device, so one project serves both.
Hands support affects reach. The Store recommends hands-compatible content, so having an app support hands will give you a direct avenue to the VR Glasses audience. Titles requiring controllers can still be discovered once controllers are paired to the device. The field of view narrows to roughly 70x66 degrees against 110x96 on Meta Quest 3, at higher resolution per eye. Bring edge-of-vision UI toward the center.
Hover events never fire. Gaze is private by design, so any tooltip or menu you open on hover breaks.
🎯 Action item
Run the Device Readiness Check for a prioritized list of what to fix in your project, from hands support to performance.
We've also updated our tools and simulators so you can build and test experiences for VR Glasses before they ship:
Simulators: Meta XR Simulator (Unity | Unreal), Meta Spatial Simulator, and the Immersive Web Emulator support the VR Glasses input model and field of view on your Mac or PC. That allows you to test experiences before hardware ships in spring 2027.
Agents that close the loop. The Meta VR CLI gives your agent VR expertise by sharing platform documentation, device debugging and profiling. Meta XR Operator lets your agent see, navigate and interact with your running app in Meta XR Simulator so it can improve your apps performance, build features, fix a bug or run a test you describe in plain language. Then, it can verify the result with a screenshot.

Horizon: describe a game, build it your way, and publish it across Meta apps
Horizon Create and Horizon Studio are two new creation tools built on the agentic creation capabilities of the Meta Horizon Engine. Together, they enable you to describe the game you have in mind, shape it with guided controls, and work through it as a plan you build and revise: progression systems, difficulty, art direction and multiplayer are all yours to adjust.
Horizon Create: a mobile app for building and remixing games entirely from your phone. Prompt an idea, keep playing something else while it builds, then playtest when the notification arrives.
Horizon Studio: a web surface for tighter control over the details, pairing open-ended prompting with sliders, dropdowns and typed parameters, plus visual editing and asset swapping.
Horizon Create puts the entire build flow in your pocket. Start with a prompt or choose a ready-made template, then adjust art style, characters, story, and progression by describing the changes you want.
No game engine or coding is required, and the games you publish with these tools will be able to reach people natively in their feeds across Facebook, Instagram, and Horizon. Your projects can also move between Horizon Create and Horizon Studio in either direction, carrying assets, systems and iteration history, so moving from your phone to your browser never requires you to start over.

Nothing we covered requires you to start from scratch. Your engine, SDKs and workflow carry over to VR Glasses. Your mobile app keeps its logic and backend when it moves onto glasses, and your web code runs on Meta Ray-Ban Display. Our latest AI models integrate into the stack you already run, and making a game on Horizon doesn't take a game engine or advanced coding experience.
