New eLearning Courses on Creating a Safe, Trusted Environment for Your Community

We’re excited to introduce two new courses in our Trusted Developer Essentials program. Built in partnership with Data Protocol, the new courses are designed to bring clarity to your responsibilities for Content Moderation & Reporting Compliance, as well as Developer Organization Verification. Together, these courses and guidelines aim to help you build trust with your audience and understand parameters for creating safe environments that reflect our platform’s core values.
The VR and MR apps you’ve created have the ability to deliver unique social experiences. As with any social platform, it’s vitally important for behavior standards and content guidelines to be put in place and followed in order to protect people’s safety and ensure your apps can be enjoyed by everyone who downloads them.
Both the CCVE and Developer Organization Verification come with guidelines and requirements that developers must follow.
  • Content Moderation & Reporting Compliance
  • Completing Organization Verification

Taught by Meta experts, these courses take as little as 10 minutes to complete and complement the existing library of courses designed to provide you with clarity on platform requirements and policies such as the Data Protection Assessment, Data Use Checkup, and more. Dive in below for more information on the two new courses and how they can help your organization.

Content Moderation & Reporting Compliance

The CCVE communicates our platform’s core values of voice, safety, authenticity, dignity, and privacy to provide you with parameters for creating a safe environment for everyone. Every app and experience available on Meta Quest is expected to follow these parameters, but we know that each community is different. That’s why you have the flexibility to define rules that go above and beyond the CCVE.
This course helps you understand core platform requirements for moderating your community, such as enabling User Reporting, and also walks you through best practices for building an effective moderation strategy. You’ll dive deeper into areas like:
  • Creating community rules
  • Making a plan for actioning reports of user misbehavior
  • Communicating effectively with your audience
  • Evolving moderation over time

Completing Organization Verification

Developer Organization Verification is designed to verify the authenticity of all developers publishing apps on Meta Quest. It requires your organization to either prove that it’s a legal entity or prove that your admin is an authorized representative of your organization.
Verification can help people feel confident about the experiences they’re purchasing and engaging with on Meta Quest. This course was built to make the process fast and flexible, while quickly helping you understand the two options you have for completing verification:
  • Business verification: This process lets us gather information about you and our developer organization so we can verify your identity as a legal business entity.
  • Admin verification: This process lets us gather information about you so we can verify your identity as a person if you do not have a business entity.
After taking this course, you’ll know what information and documents you need to gather before starting the verification process in the Developer Dashboard—and what to expect after you complete it.
