Build for a Diverse User Base with User Demographics Analytics

VR can bring people together from all over the world for a shared experience. We believe building an inclusive app is important and can result in a better experience, reviews, and sales. We previously shared a segmentation study, Understanding the VR Gaming Market, which provides insight on United States industry trends that you can apply to your app design and marketing. Today, we’re launching User Demographics Analytics so you can understand how your app is resonating with a broader audience.
The new demographics analytics page includes:
  • Active users per age and gender
  • Histogram and time series by age
  • Histogram and time series by gender
  • A detailed breakdown by country
These demographic insights can help developers make choices such as the next language to localize or increasing representation in store assets. You can access the dashboard by navigating to your app in the Developer Dashboard, select Analytics from the left-hand navigation, and then find User Demographics on the sub-menu:
We hope these new analytics help you make informed decisions about your audience. In tandem, consider reviewing our documentation on Designing Accessible VR for inclusivity best practices. Please let us know what you think and leave your feedback in the developer forums.
