Documentation

See the Platform documentation for Android, Unity, Unreal Engine, or Native C++ development for a list of features and links to how to get started. The Platform SDK is compatible with all Meta Horizon supported development environments and platforms.

What's Fixed

  • Error codes are now consistent. Achievements, Leaderboards, Users, In-App Purchases, User Age Category, Group Presence, Application, Rich Presence and Challenges now return the native error code documented for each API instead of a code from the underlying service. If your app branches on error codes from these APIs, re-test against the documented codes and remove any workarounds you added for the mismatch.
  • Group Presence now works for PC VR apps and for Unity Play In Editor when running on Meta Horizon Link v207 or later. Inviting other players from in-app methods such as GroupPresence.LaunchInvitePanel and GroupPresence.SendInvites, setting joinable destinations, and rejoining other players all work again. Meta Horizon Link updates independently of the SDK, so check your Link version if these calls still fail.
  • Several Users APIs no longer return a not-supported error on PC VR apps running Meta Horizon Link v207 or later. Users.GetAccessToken, Users.GetLinkedAccounts, Users.LaunchBlockFlow, Users.LaunchUnblockFlow and Users.LaunchFriendRequestFlow now work.
  • IAP.LaunchCheckoutFlow no longer hangs on PC VR apps running Meta Horizon Link v207 or later. The flow now always delivers a result to your app.
  • Unreal: fixed a crash in the Meta XR Platform plugin's telemetry when an event was sent without an explicit project name.
  • Users.GetLoggedInUser no longer returns a user with ID "0" when no user is logged in. If your app checks for ID "0" to detect a logged-out user, that check no longer works. Handle the unsuccessful result from the API instead.
  • On Meta Horizon OS devices, a single abuse report button press is now delivered to your app exactly once. If your app added its own de-duplication, you can remove it.
  • Application.StartAppDownload now returns install status values that match the documented enum. If your app branches on this status, re-test against the documented values.
  • Improvements

  • Stability fixes on Android, including push notification handling and peer-to-peer networking, plus additional fixes not detailed here.
  • Known Issues

  • PC VR apps and Unity Play In Editor: DeviceApplicationIntegrity, AbuseReport, and UserAgeCategory are not supported and return a "Provider not found" error. Use these APIs on Meta Horizon OS devices only.
