Overview

A 2D web experience for Meta Quest is a standards-based website hosted on the web and opened in Meta Quest Browser. Build and host the site with your usual web workflow, then test it in Browser on a Meta Quest headset.

Development path

  1. Build and host your site with standard web technologies.
  2. Review Browser specifications to use feature detection and account for Browser’s viewing modes and resizable window.
  3. Open the hosted URL in Meta Quest Browser. Use Debug Browser content to inspect the site with Chrome DevTools.

Optional app distribution

You can distribute the hosted site without packaging it as an app. If you need app distribution, you can optionally package the site as a 2D Progressive Web App (PWA).
Start with the PWA overview, then review the 2D PWA guidance before packaging the site.
