Seoul, Creators, and 49 New Worlds: Inside the Latest Worlds Creator Academy Bootcamp
2025 has been a breakout year for Meta Horizon creators. As the Worlds Desktop Editor and generative AI tools expanded into several new countries, we watched a global wave of content creators, influencers, and “I’m not a developer but I have a great idea” creators jump for the first time. Suddenly, people who had never thought about designing a game were crafting cozy hangouts, multiplayer arenas, epic cityscapes, and everything in between for VR and mobile.
So when we brought the Worlds Creator Academy bootcamp to Seoul this November, the energy was already sky-high. And the creators who joined us took it even higher.
From November 19–21, more than 100 creators across nine countries came together at the Meta Korea office, including some from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand. The goal was simple enough: help these creators build and publish their first mobile world. Getting there took a few extra steps, and a whole lot of fun and learning along the way.
Dive in below to read highlights, explore standout worlds from the event, discover new tools, and learn how to be considered for future creator events.
A Creative Epicenter with a Fresh Twist
The Worlds Creator Academy bootcamp brings together a handpicked group of creators and gives them the tools, training, and support to publish their very first world (or asset) for mobile.
It’s part workshop, part hackathon, part community festival in which new creators can meet, learn, build, get inspired, and ring a gong to announce that their world has just published. After previous bootcamps in New York and California, Seoul was stop number three.
As our first bootcamp in Asia, the event was already special, but it also introduced a new angle: prototyping in the Worlds Desktop Editor now, and preparing to take those worlds to the next level in the Meta Horizon Studio, which you can apply to access in beta today.
Worlds Creator Academy Seoul delivered a holistic blend of demos, speaker sessions, and hands-on building.
This perspective was woven in across each day as creator experts and Meta staff led sessions covering the latest demos, opportunities to earn and learn with the Meta Horizon Creator Program, and technical insights.
From monetization strategies to technical know-how, the learnings were expansive. The atmosphere? Focused, ambitious, and fun. Now, take a closer look at what we covered.
Day 1: Inform and Inspire
The opening day set the tone for the entire bootcamp. Our team walked creators through the future of Meta Horizon, including core audience segments, trends, discovery patterns, and the kinds of worlds players actually stick with.
We also talked about design principles, mobile-first thinking, and teased Meta Horizon Studio as the next-generation of tooling to enable bigger, smoother, and more engaging worlds.
It inspired me to a whole new level and I am excited for Horizon studio.

By the end of the day, you could practically see the light bulbs switching on as creators started thinking, “Okay, I think I know what I want to build.”
Day 2: Enable and Explore
If Day 1 set the stage, Day 2 pulled back the curtain and turned the spotlights on. Creator experts helped attendees get familiar with the Worlds Desktop Editor as they ran hands-on sessions covering scripting, remixable worlds, visual identity, interaction design, and mobile optimization, including:
An in-depth session led by PigeonNo12 introduced creators to the Worlds Desktop Editor and unpacked how to useTypeScript, Horizon APIs, and remixable worlds.
A demo on art, assets, and visual identity as MKE_TheGuru revealed how to make a world your own by importing 3D assets, importing skydomes, reskinning asset templates.
A second demo covering interactions and mobile optimization with king_of_Miami and MikeyAce focused on setting player POV, portrait mode, interaction enhancements, and custom UI.
Creator expert MKE_TheGuru presenting a session on art, assets, and visual identity in Worlds.
Each session took more or less the same approach, blending “here’s how to do it” with “here’s how Meta Horizon Studio will remove friction and let you do it on a bigger scale.” The aim was to dive into details and connect cutting-edge tools with practical outcomes.
I am amazed by the quality work that has been put in to showcase this platform to creators and really good to have such sessions offline with people in-person.

The final day brought the momentum full circle as Developer Advocate Deepak Nair opened with a session on discovery and monetization, illustrating how to get your world seen, how to keep players coming back, and how to turn a project into something sustainable.
Then came the week’s final demo, led by Saydeechan, MikeyAce, and King_of_Miami, who broke down retention systems and in-world economies. They explored the mechanics and loops that keep players coming back, touching on everything from leaderboards and avatar clothing to daily rewards gizmos and PPV features.
Day 3 let creators loose so they could build out their ideas and publish them before the end of the bootcamp.
After that, creators got uninterrupted time to get hands-on and build, test, and publish their prototypes with Meta staff and experts floating around like creative professors. And because no bootcamp is complete without a little celebration, when creators published their world or asset, they got to hit the gong.
Deepak then led a brand-building session where creators produced social posts to promote their new worlds, because publishing is only half the story. The other half? Sharing it.
Creators flooded social media with excitement and personal recaps after the bootcamp.
49 Creations Published in Seoul
By the time the bootcamp wrapped up, creators had published 49 new worlds or assets, with each one revealing a small piece of what the creator community is capable of, even without extensive building experience.
After the dust settled, our creator experts recognized four standout worlds:
Try out these worlds for yourself to gain inspiration, discover new ideas, and see what’s possible in just a couple days of building.
Seoul Proved What’s Possible
When you put the right tools, the right guidance, and the right people in the same room, creativity blossoms and translates into unforgettable experiences. The creator community showed up with willingness, curiosity, and a blank canvas to turn ideas into something tangible. What they left with was prototypes, new connections, and a glimpse of the future with Meta Horizon Studio.
I came in with no Meta Horizon experience and built a full proof of concept of a game with a fun mechanic that works well! In a day! I had a great time and met some great people I’m excited to keep working with.

Creators celebrated the end of the bootcamp with a closing reception at Latitude32, a rooftop lounge.
As Worlds and our creator tools expand to more countries, we’re watching the platform evolve into a global creative force. If Seoul was any indication, we’re just getting started.
