Don’t Miss Out: Get Your App to the Meta Horizon Store Faster

Blog Hero Image
New tools and capabilities are driving a wider variety of opportunities and use cases for mixed reality on Horizon OS than ever before. As more developers enter the ecosystem to start building with mixed reality and our existing developer community continues publishing great apps on our platform, we’ve been busy looking for ways to streamline the end-to-end process and eliminate roadblocks to success.
We know that navigating the development and publishing process can feel challenging, and you may need additional resources to meet our content standards. We’re committed to supporting you throughout the entire process—from onboarding and ongoing reviews to everything in between. So, we’ve created a library of helpful content to give you the tools you need to overcome obstacles and find success on the Meta Horizon Store. Dive in below to start exploring these resources so you can help your apps make a faster jump to distribution.
What is the Trusted Developer Essentials Program?
The Trusted Developer Essentials Program, or TDE, is a collection of resources led by Meta experts and hosted on the Data Protocol Platform. TDE covers topics like Store requirements, app submission, privacy policies, and more.
The Trusted Developer Essentials Program contains resources on topics like the app submission process, privacy policies, discoverability, organization verification and more.
The Data Protocol Platform is a developer resource platform with dynamic content and resources to help you navigate your various publishing challenges. Whether it be in short video-based courses, actionable guides and resources or clips that provide guidance in a minute or less. With several available options, you can get the answers you need in the way you want to learn.
The content that we provide is designed to make the most of your time, and we keep it brief so you can get back to building quickly. You’ll learn tips to help you meet platform requirements and take advantage of everything the Meta Horizon platform has to offer.
Each resource is available on demand, so you can engage with it whenever you need answers—and come back anytime for quick refreshers. When it’s time to brush up on something you learned, the platform makes it easy to jump in. Just use the timestamped notes feature to revisit key takeaways from videos, or find resources for each topic, which are all saved to your profile for quick access.
What Does the Program Include?
We already have a great collection of resources for you to check out, but the TDE program is constantly growing. We're always launching new content, so keep an eye out for new additions.Currently, the program includes:
Short Codes
Short Codes are engaging, bite-sized videos that give you answers quickly. In five minutes or less, Meta experts cover key concepts and best practices for a variety of topics, from writing your privacy policy and driving discoverability, to our newest Short Code on understanding Meta’s Content Guidelines.
Courses
Courses provide a deeper dive into topics like policies and requirements. Each course is a series of short lessons with step-by-step guidance and insider tips to help you clear reviews and get your app live faster. To get started, check out some of our most popular courses like Completing Age Group Self-Certification or Completing Organization Verification.
Docs & Guides
Our docs transform complex topics into clear, actionable guidance that makes it easier to meet requirements and pass reviews. We’ve created resources to support you throughout your journey on the platform, whether you’re preparing for app review or navigating new requirements. Recently, we created a new visual resource to help you understand your app’s journey through our platform requirements:
Check out some of our most popular docs, like the Privacy Policy Evaluation and Preparing Assets for the Meta Horizon Store.
Docs provide granular details to help you understand more complex processes and information.
Badges
Badges demonstrate proficiency with important topics, and you can earn them by completing certain courses and sharing them with your community to show off your skills. Get familiar with badges by exploring our current badges, like the badge for Navigating the Data Use Checkup.
Badges offer a fun and easy way to showcase proficiency with important topics.
To stay in the loop, be sure to connect your Meta Horizon account with the Data Protocol Platform to get alerts when we launch new content.
Connecting your Meta account to the Data Protocol Platform enables notifications that can help you get ahead when new content launches or requirements change.
Resources and Testimonials
To learn more about the Trusted Developer Essentials Program, visit our documentation. When you sign up, you’re joining more than 3,000 developers in over 100 countries who are taking advantage of the growing library of video content and resource guides hosted by our learning partner, Data Protocol.
