Business verification

Updated: Aug 24, 2026
Business Verification confirms your organization as a registered legal business entity. Choose this path if you have your business documentation (such as incorporation certificates or business licenses) readily available. If you’re an independent developer or a small studio without formal business registration, Admin verification is likely the better option.
For an overview of both verification paths, see Verify your organization.

Verify your business

  1. Open your browser and navigate to the Developer Dashboard.
  2. From the left-side navigation, click Org Verification.
  3. Scroll down and click Start verification under Business verification.
  4. Read and follow the instructions in the Verify your business modal. When you’re ready to continue, click Get started.
  5. Choose the country where your business is located, and then click Next.
  6. Add the required business details including name, address, and phone number, as well as any optional details you’d like to provide like website and tax ID. When you’re finished, click Next.
  7. Select the correct business from the list of businesses generated from public records, or select My business isn’t listed if you don’t see your organization on the list.
  8. Review your business details and click Next.
  9. Select a contact method and choose how you want to receive your verification code, either through email, phone call, or text message (SMS).
  10. Enter your verification code.
  11. Click Submit.
Once you submit your verification, you’ll receive a notification when the review is complete. Most verifications are processed within 48 hours, though some may take longer.

Accepted document types

When completing business verification, you may need to upload documentation that confirms your business identity. The following document types are generally accepted:
  • Business registration or incorporation certificate
  • Business license
  • Tax registration certificate
  • Articles of incorporation or organization
  • Partnership agreement (for partnerships)
  • Utility bill or bank statement showing the business name and address (as supplementary documentation)

File format requirements

  • Accepted formats: PDF, PNG, JPG, or JPEG
  • Maximum file size: 10 MB per document
  • Documents must be legible with all text readable
  • Documents must not be expired

Country-specific requirements

Document requirements vary by country. In some regions, you may need to provide additional documentation such as:
  • European Union: VAT registration certificate or chamber of commerce registration
  • United States: EIN confirmation letter (IRS Letter 147C or CP 575) or state business registration
  • United Kingdom: Companies House registration or HMRC documentation
  • India: GST registration certificate, certificate of incorporation, or PAN card
  • Brazil: CNPJ registration
If your country is not listed above, provide the most relevant official business registration document issued by your government.

Common rejection reasons

If your business verification is rejected, check for the following common issues:
  • Document mismatch: The business name on your uploaded document does not match the business name on your developer account.
  • Expired documents: The document you uploaded has expired. Provide a current, valid document.
  • Illegible uploads: The document image is blurry, cropped, or too low resolution to read. Upload a clear, full-page scan or photo.
  • Unsupported document type: The uploaded document is not an official business registration document (for example, a business card or marketing material).
  • Incomplete information: The document does not show all required information (business name, registration number, or address).
If your verification is rejected, you can resubmit with corrected documentation from the Org Verification page in the Developer Dashboard.
