Meta Horizon Start Lifestyle RFP FAQ

We are excited to hear so many of you express enthusiasm for Meta Horizon Start’s Lifestyle RFP. We wanted to follow up with a brief external FAQ to cover some questions we have been receiving from developers. We look forward to receiving your applications. A reminder to please follow the application instructions delineated in this post to access RFP materials and apply.

Unfortunately we are not permitted to share funding ranges at the moment. Please do your best to assess your strict funding needs and provide a budget ask indicating what you would like Meta to cover. It will be helpful to keep in mind that we are looking for snackable content, not hours of play. We will be offering small grant funds.

Yes, feel free to include marketing, which we welcome, though development/build should be a focus as well.

No, the proposal must be for an app that has not been published before. Please note that identical ‘companion apps’ are not permitted. The app must be different enough in branding, identity, and use case, so please keep that in mind.

You can, but please think through what your RFP project will entail, since we are looking for roadmaps as part of the project.

First, apply to the Start program here. Please make sure to upload an app build or app in progress to the dev center prior so you have one to select for this. Afterwards, details re: the RFP will become available via the select Start Discord server. You will receive instructions re: a deck to submit and a questionnaire to fill out, along with an email alias for submission.

Yes, both are required components of the full RFP application. Plese make sure to apply to the Start program and receive acceptance before proceeding.
