Submitting to Concepts and Early Access on the Oculus Store

Since Oculus Share was phased out, we want to make sure everyone knows how to publish their innovative experiments, as well as get early community feedback on unfinished builds.
Last year, we announced the launch of two new sections in the Oculus Store: Concepts and Early Access. Both of these sections are designed to help distribute your early-in-development projects and better understand how people interact with them.
  • Concepts — A place to showcase experimental projects that push the boundaries of VR. They explore a new mechanic, style, or interaction paradigm and are great if you want to experiment with something new before building out a full app. We’re still looking for a high degree of polish and performance, but expect a more limited scope for the project. They’re always free for consumers to play and explore.
  • Early Access — A place to preview playable VR experiences that are still in development. Builds should be close to a full experience, but there might be some placeholder art or non-final gameplay mechanics. We encourage developers to make updates and move their apps to the Store. Developers can charge for these apps.
As a developer, you also have the option to make your app available outside the Oculus Store and offer your own in-app purchase solution. You can do this and retain access to Oculus platform features with keys.
If you submitted an app to Oculus Share, you’ll need to resubmit to the Oculus Store. To do so, first update to the 1.4 SDK and submit your application on the dashboard. When preparing your submission, please keep in mind the additional performance requirements and our new content guidelines.
We look forward to seeing your Concepts and Early Access apps on the Oculus Store.
