Announcing the new (and improved) Meta Horizon developer center

Today we’re excited to announce that we've redesigned the Meta Quest Developer Center with refreshed and reorganized content, and a new domain and name: Meta Horizon Developer Center. With this change, we’re working towards realizing our vision for a spatial computing platform that democratizes VR and MR development; providing opportunities for both new and experienced developers to build using groundbreaking mixed reality capabilities, publish and distribute apps across multiple devices, and build sustainable success.

We’ve refreshed the Developer Center with one goal in mind—to help you find essential information that you’re looking for and catalyze your development journey from start to finish. Now, when you visit the Developer Center, you’ll find updated site navigation, entirely new content to help you understand what you can build and how, streamlined destinations containing success stories and case studies, and much more. Along with a completely redesigned homepage aimed at serving new and veteran developers, we’ve worked to ensure that each page in the Developer Center is curated to offer easy access to essential documentation, new and existing capabilities, and resources to best help you build your experience for Meta Horizon OS.

The Developer Center has been rebuilt from the ground up to provide quick access to development platforms, success stories and use cases to get inspired, and the latest news–regardless of your development experience; however, if you’re new to developing for VR/MR or considering publishing apps with Meta Horizon OS for the first time, we’ve built out the new Why Meta Quest? just for you. Here, you’ll learn how developing for Meta Quest headsets unlocks nearly endless possibilities to follow your passions, create innovative experiences with groundbreaking capabilities, and grow your business—both on and off the Meta Horizon Store.

To round out our efforts helping you easily find pertinent information to assist development, we’ve enhanced the Meta Horizon Developer Center with improved search functionality. Now you can spend less time finding the documentation and articles you need to propel development, such as resources for Meta Spatial SDK, a new way to build immersive apps for Meta Horizon OS. Meta Spatial SDK lets you combine the rich ecosystem of Android development and the unique capabilities of Meta Quest via accessible APIs that help you enhance existing mobile apps with new spatial features, or build new immersive apps from the ground up for Meta Horizon OS using the development languages and tools you already know.

Additionally, we’ve updated our developer blog to allow you to filter content by topic and industry. These updates mark the beginning of ongoing updates and support that will continue through the end of the year and beyond.
