Meta Connect Recap: Sign Up for Early Access to Horizon Create and Horizon Studio
At Meta Connect, we introduced Horizon Create and Horizon Studio: two new tools built on the agentic creation capabilities of the Meta Horizon Engine. Both enable creators to turn any idea into a complete 2D or 3D mobile game, complete with progression systems, balanced difficulty, art direction, multiplayer, and more, then refine every element to their standards.
With Horizon Create, you can open an app on your phone, describe the game you want to build in your own words, and watch it come to life. With Horizon Studio, you can do the same from your browser, with more granular controls and a single place to manage your game's lifecycle. The games you build transfer between Horizon Create and Horizon Studio, so you can always pick up right where you left off.
Early access is rolling out gradually. Sign up for the waitlist to be notified when Horizon Create and Horizon Studio become available to you.
If you have a great idea for a game, you should be able to build it and get it in front of players without spending months navigating tools, hardware, and marketing. That's the future we're building.

Traditional game development demands months of work, expensive hardware, and specialized skills. Even when a game ships, creators can struggle to find their first players. Horizon Create and Horizon Studio remove these barriers: they make it easier to turn your ideas into playable 2D and 3D games, and they enable you to distribute them automatically across several Meta platforms when you publish (more on that below).
You describe what you want with simple text prompts, typing out your idea the way you'd explain it to a friend. The engine translates your vision into a playable game that you can then refine, including environments, characters, mechanics, and multiplayer support. When your game is ready, publishing makes it eligible for distribution across Facebook, Instagram, and Horizon where billions of people already spend time.
Horizon Create: build games from your phone
Horizon Create is a standalone mobile app for bringing ideas to life at the moment of inspiration.
Horizon Create puts the entire build flow in your pocket. Start with a prompt or choose a ready-made template, then adjust art style, characters, story, and progression by describing the changes you want.
Your entire creative process fits in one app. Prompt an idea, play what the agentic engine builds, refine it, and repeat, following the rhythm of how you already use your phone. Kick off a build, keep playing other games while it generates, and get notified when it's ready to playtest. And if you're juggling more than one idea, you can run multiple projects at the same time. Whether you start from a blank canvas or a ready-made template, both paths produce complete 2D or 3D games ready to publish.
Horizon Studio: go deeper on the web
Horizon Studio is a browser-based creation environment for when you want more control. There's nothing to install and no gaming PC required.
The interface pairs the same natural-language prompting you would use on Horizon Create and adds full visual editing on top. You can arrange your scene directly, browse and swap individual assets, tune script parameters to change how things behave, and shape spatial layouts by hand. Describe a change in words when that's faster, or make it yourself when you want precise control.
One prompt can restyle your entire scene, environment, character, and lighting through agentic creation with Meta AI.
Seamless handoff between Horizon Create and Horizon Studio
Everything you build in Horizon Create transfers into Horizon Studio and vice versa, including assets, systems, and iteration history. Because the two tools share a common backend, moving from mobile to web never means starting over. Horizon Studio picks up exactly where you left off, and you don't need an existing game to begin in Horizon Studio; you can start with just an idea.
Built-in distribution across Meta platforms
When you publish from either tool, your game becomes eligible for native distribution across Facebook, Instagram and Horizon.
Someone scrolling through Instagram can tap a clip of your game and be in a multiplayer session within seconds, without needing to download an app or being redirected. Your game lives natively in the feeds where people already discover content and connect with friends.
Quality gets rewarded
For games built with Horizon Create and Horizon Studio, discovery is driven by one thing: fun. Games that are engaging, stable, culturally relevant, and keep players coming back earn more reach. Those that don't are deprioritized and fade from discovery.
Build something people love, and the platform surfaces it to more players. As your reach scales, so do your revenue opportunities through in-game monetization and the Meta Horizon Creator Fund. Stay tuned for more details on monetization options coming soon.
Safe by design: protections across every surface
Games built with Horizon Create and Horizon Studio run on Facebook, Instagram, and Horizon, where we have spent years building safety infrastructure. Those protections carry over to every game published through these tools, so we can apply existing safety mechanisms and checks to the experiences you create.
Every piece of generated content passes through Meta's content safety systems before it reaches players, with guardrails built into the creation flow itself. Games are reviewed before publishing and distribution, so you build within a system designed to keep players safe by default.
Every published game also receives an automated age rating and is gated into age-appropriate tiers before it goes live. Youth protections, including parental supervision through Family Center, carry over from Horizon's existing safety framework.
