Signing up for a Meta account through the developer website gives you access to develop, test and publish your app on the Meta Horizon Platform. Here are some key things to know.

Your Meta account lets you log into your VR devices and view and manage your purchased apps in one place. It contains information such as entitlements, email, phone number, and payment information. This information is not public. You'll also use your Meta account to log into Meta Horizon developer surfaces to upload builds, add test users, view analytics, and more. You can choose to add your Meta account to the same Accounts Center as your Facebook and/or Instagram accounts to unlock connected experiences across Meta technologies and find colleagues in VR, but it is not required. Adding your accounts to the same Accounts Center can also enable you to use advertising tools like App Ads to reach audiences on multiple platforms.

All Meta Horizon developers must verify their accounts by providing a payment method and/or phone number in order for their accounts to remain valid. After setting up your Meta account, log into Developer Center and visit “My apps” to verify your account and complete the developer account process. Learn more about developer verification.

Your Meta account enables you to create test user accounts when multiple accounts are needed to test your project.
