Private App Policies
Updated: Aug 29, 2024
Meta Quest for Business provides organizations with a solution to manage a fleet of Meta Quest devices and deploy Private Apps to devices that are being managed. By using a business channel in the Developer Dashboard, developers are able to upload and make available Private Apps to organizations using the Meta Quest for Business service. To learn more about utilizing a business channel for Private Apps, please visit our
Private App Developer page.
Developers who upload or otherwise make available Private Apps through a business channel are responsible for complying with the policies described in this guide and with all other applicable Meta terms and policies (including those listed below and the best practices specified in the Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences), and Meta reserves the right to take action if a developer does not comply.
We want end users to feel safe and welcome when they use apps on their Quest devices or otherwise on or within Meta Horizon’s platform. Developers of Private Apps are responsible for ensuring that their app, its content, title, icon and/or other cover art comply with our
Content Guidelines and other applicable policies and requirements. Developers are also responsible for securing all rights, licenses and permissions necessary for the lawful distribution and use of their Private Apps and associated content, and ensuring that their Private Apps comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
In addition, developers should refrain from including company-sensitive information in any app added to a business channel. Instead, developers should remove company-sensitive information from the app before doing so, not host the app on Meta servers, or have the app request company-sensitive information only on an as-needed basis.
Further, developers may not include any information or data that is subject to safeguarding and/or limitations on distribution pursuant to applicable laws and/or regulation in any app added to a business channel, including, without limitation, health information as defined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, otherwise known as HIPAA.
If a user reports that your Private App violates our policies or if we otherwise become aware that your Private App violates our policies, we may take action, including, but not limited to, removing it from the business channel.
Comfort is very important to us. Your Private App should not cause users motion sickness, nausea, disorientation, headache, or general discomfort. We recommend that the Private App displays graphics in the Quest device at 72 frames per second.
