Window manipulation affordances
Application windows can be manipulated in a few different ways on the Meta Quest headset. Windows can be repositioned in space as well as resized to fit a user’s needs since one size does not fit all. Affordances are used to help users understand how a window can be manipulated.
The display bar allows groups of windows, also known as a display layout, to be repositioned. The display bar is positioned below the center of a display layout to accommodate egocentric movement, user handedness, and ergonomic hand interaction.

The control bar is a system component that lets you manage and reposition individual windows. It includes actions like “follow me,” “theater view,” “pin to space,” and “close.” Positioned centrally below a window, the control bar supports egocentric movement, user handedness, and ergonomic hand interaction.

Edge handles appear when you hover over the edges outside individual windows. They are located around all four edges of a window and are used for repositioning. While optimal for direct hand-based interaction, edge handles also work with other inputs.

Resize handles appear when hovering over a corner of a window. Selecting and dragging a resize handle will resize the window from the center, allowing easier adjustments with less movement.
