A proactive approach to monetization and engagement unlocks opportunities to serve your users better and maximize success throughout the year. Adjusting your strategy according to factors like seasonal events, new app updates, fluctuations in user engagement, and the stage of your app’s lifecycle ensures that you are capitalizing on important moments and responding to changes in user behavior; however, determining an optimal strategy becomes a challenging process without a strong pulse on the health of your app and business.
The analytics suite in the Developer Dashboard provides all developers with essential tools to monitor a wide variety of health and performance metrics. Keeping a close tab on analytics provided can give you a clearer picture of metrics like retention, engagement, and revenue so you can gather important insights and take control of your success—no matter the size or experience level of your organization. To help you stay tuned into these metrics and understand how your app compares to other experiences in the Meta Horizon Store, we’ve recently launched two platform analytics tools that can support you in owning your commercial success: Alerts and Benchmarks.
With Alerts and Benchmarks, you now have the ability to quickly evaluate the health of your app and business, compare key metrics to platform averages, and take action on high-priority areas. Dive in below to learn how you can use each of these tools to support your business.
Subscribe for email alerts to assess the health of your app
With
Analytics Alerts, you can subscribe to email alerts for all metrics available on the analytics
overview page. App Alerts enable you to configure notification settings to receive updates on any combination of metrics and adjust the value threshold to identify early indicators of your app’s performance. With alerts sent to your email, you can quickly understand how your app is being impacted and break through the data noise to hyper-focus on specific metrics that support the health of your app. Below you can find a chart containing all metrics available to you in the overview page.

Leverage metrics benchmarking to assess the health of your business
Measuring changes to your app’s performance over time is important for identifying patterns and proactively addressing core concerns. Beyond addressing urgent needs, consistently evaluating your Store performance can also help you unlock additional growth opportunities and areas for improvement. With the
Metrics Benchmarking feature, you can now compare your metrics to platform averages across key areas:
- Product Details Page (PDP) visits to conversion rate: Understand the effectiveness of your Store PDP.
- Retention: Understand how long users continue to engage with your app.
- Add-on Revenue per active user: Assess the effectiveness of add-ons that support your revenue stream.
For deeper insights, metrics benchmarking also enables you to compare your app to specific app segments in the Store:
- Compare your app’s weekly active users (WAU) to the top 100, 200, and 600 apps in the Store.
- Compare your app to other apps under the same monetization model (free vs paid)—paid apps include all apps with an MSRP price that’s greater than $0.
- Compare your app to averages in its genre. We’ve included the top 15 developer-defined genres to help segment your data.
By segmenting your app data by monetization model, WAU, and genre, you can work to ensure your app meets or exceeds platform averages and user expectations.
